Do I need extra insurance coverage to rent a pop-up?
Usually your current auto liability coverage will cover the rental unit while it's being towed,
however, you'll want to check with your insurance agent. If your coverage does not cover a
rental camper, you will need to purchase a separate binder.
Will you show me how to set up the camper?
Absolutely! In fact, we require you go through an orientation prior to leaving on your trip. We
will guide you through set-up and take-down of the unit. Together, we will inspect the trailer
and note any existing problems/flaws so that you will not be held responsible. You will also
be given written instructions for set-up/take-down to take with you. The staff at Outdoor
Escape RV want you to have an enjoyable camping experience and we know that stressing
out over camper set-up is not a good way to start your trip! You will also be given emergency
numbers if you need to contact us after hours.
Are pets allowed?
Sorry, pets are NOT allowed inside the rental unit. Please understand that subsequent
renters may be allergic to animals and we want everyone to have a pleasant experience.
Is smoking allowed?
NO! Same as the Pets explanation.
Are there taxes on my rental?
The state of Virginia charges a 10% rental tax.
What are the towing requirements?
You will need a vehicle that can tow at least 2200 lbs. You will also need a Class II hitch with
a 2" ball. Electrical connections are 4-flat or 7-round. You must have the proper, working,
electrical connection or the camper cannot be taken.
Is it necessary to make a reservation?
Yes, and it is highly recommended that you reserve your rental unit as soon as you know the
date of your 'Escape'. A non-refundable reservation deposit of $ 50.00 is required to reserve
the unit.
What if I want to extend my trip?
You must call our office within 48 hours of your contracted return date. If the unit is available,
you may be permitted to keep the unit for the additional fees indicated on our page entitled
"Rental Rates".
Why do I need to leave a security deposit?
Our rental units are available for the use and enjoyment by you and others like you. Outdoor
Escape RV wants to ensure that each rental unit is "like new" when it is rented. We do
expect you to return the trailer the same way you received it. Your security deposit protects
you against costly repairs or replacements that may be required in cases of accidental
situations/circumstances. THE SECURITY DEPOSIT IS
$ 250 - CASH or Credit Card Authorization ONLY.
Your security deposit will be fully refunded within 5 days of your return, given that the rental
unit is returned in the same condition as it was taken. You will be present during the
check-out inspection performed by one of our staff prior to your departure. You will also be
informed of any deductions made from your security deposit.
What is your cancellation policy?
If we receive notification 2 weeks prior to your departure date, your reservation deposit will
be fully refunded. However, if you cancel the week of your rental (months of May-Sept), you
will be charged for half the rental fee. If you cancel the day of your rental, you will be charged
the the balance of your rental fee.
Do you accept personal checks?
We accept payment by cash, credit card (MC/VISA), or cashier's check. Personal checks
written on a local bank are accepted - a $30 fee will be charged for insufficient funds.
